The Newburgh Free Library

The Newburgh Free Library has an opening for a part-time Typist.
Essential Functions:
  • checking in and out library material
  • answering telephones and transferring calls
  • issuing library cards
  • assisting patrons in maintaining their library records
  • faxing and assisting patrons with copiers
  • other library clerical duties as needed
Work Schedule:
The part-time clerk typist will be expected to work a maximum of 17.5 hours a week. The hours for this position will primarily be Wednesday evenings, Thursdays and Fridays (daytime shifts), and one Saturday shift a month.
Knowledge & Skills:
Candidates must possess excellent customer service skills, have the ability to operate computers and common office software programs, and be able to work with limited supervision on weekend shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • at least one year of office, customer service, and/or library clerical experience
  • knowledge of Koha integrated library system
  • knowledge of and interest in libraries and library materials
  • conversational Spanish skills
