The Marlboro Free Library is hiring a friendly and detail-oriented, substitute part-time Library Clerk to join our circulation team in our newly renovated building!

In this role, you’ll provide outstanding customer service while taking the lead at our circulation desk during your shifts. Responsibilities include checking materials in and out, shelving books and other items, assisting patrons with basic technology and computer questions, and helping ensure the smooth daily operation of the Library. Additional duties may be assigned by the Library Director.

Hours: Hours will be on an as-needed basis to cover staff absences, vacations, and busy periods. Evening and weekend availability is especially helpful. Permanent hours may become available.

Previous library experience is preferred. Starting rate is $17.51 per hour. Participation in the New York State Retirement System is optional.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous library experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable with basic computer tasks and technology
