We at the Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS), located in Middletown, New York, are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and passionate individual to work with our dedicated team to enhance, further, and develop new and innovative educational opportunities, and improve and augment youth services and programs to member libraries while working in partnership with other non-profit organizations and library systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience facilitating new initiatives, projects, and services to benefit public libraries and their patrons. The candidate must have excellent public speaking, writing, and project management skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will be well-versed in new library technologies and software programs and have the ability to teach people of all experience levels.

This position works closely with the Executive Director to plan, measure, and access programs and services; works with member library staff to enhance their competencies; collaborates with shareholders on new initiatives; and seeks and implements grant programs.

Required Qualifications:  A Master’s degree in Library Science or Library Information Science from a college or university accredited by The American Library Association; a New York State Public Library Certificate; five (5) years of professional library experience, two (2) years of which must be in an administrative capacity.

Compensation: The position offers a starting salary of $55,000 (salary negotiable based on experience) and a competitive benefits package, including participation in the New York State Retirement System.
