Information Literacy Instruction / HS to College Transition SIG

Date: Monday, November 4, 2019
Time: 1pm-4pm
Location: Southeastern
Convener: Tess Hartman-Cullen, SUNY Ulster
Special Guest Speakers: Mary Thill, Northeastern Illinois University; Frank Lambert, Middle Tennessee State University; and James Rosenzweig, Eastern Washington University

As we start a new year, it's a great time to update the way we think about source evaluation! The special guests will join us via webinar for a live discussion on their presentation from ALA called Beyond CRAAP: An Updated Approach to Source Evaluation. Following the presentation, we will have a discussion to determine how to scale the test to our home libraries, and address other issues that have come up during library instruction over the past few weeks.

This meeting is a unique opportunity for academic library instructors to meet with school librarians to talk about shared goals in helping students navigate the world of library resources. If you would like a refresher on the conversations the groups have had so far, you can find notes on the LibGuides here: http://libguides.senylrc.org/SIGs. Even if you couldn't attend previous meetings or haven't been able to participate in a while, we encourage you to join us this time and meet your colleagues!

For Southeastern and other ESLN members, there is no cost to register for this meeting.
