Facilitators: Tammy Myers, Poughkeepsie Public Library, Clarisa Rosario-DeGroate, Mount Saint Mary College
Have you ever had a disagreement with a co-worker? With a patron? With a boss? What methods worked well for you to resolve the conflict? Do you still have unresolved issues that you'd like to run by colleagues from outside of your workplace? What is a good balance between standing up for yourself and promoting a harmonious environment? At this meeting, we'll be talking about conflict resolution. The facilitators suggested a topic to kick off our discussion, and the exact agenda will be set by attendees.
Other topics that might come up in conversation could include: networking, skill sharing, fostering community, resource sharing, privacy concerns, customer service, working with volunteers, deciding to pursue further study in the field, and advocacy.
The Library Support Staff SIG meets to discuss issues of day-to-day library operation from the perspective of the staff members. The members of the group are clerks, paraprofessionals, students, volunteers, supervisors, and other non-degreed individuals. Participants come from all library types. If you didn't make it last time, you are always welcome to join us this time! Notes from the previous meeting are on our SIG LibGuide here.
This event is free for all Southeastern members and affiliate members. (Members of members.)
