Leadership Development Training Continues

Southeastern Library Resources Council has received another LSTA grant to provide training in leadership skills to the librarians of the region and beyond. SENYLRC received $35,000 to provide eight sessions in the Leadership and Supervisory Development program which builds on last summer’s grant and workshops. Our current program has a local administrator, Barbara Wall and all the facilitators are librarians from our region. There are six instructional sessions with an additional beginning or preparatory workshop and an ending session that wraps up the learning.

Barbara Wall presents a topic at Leadership Training
Topics include time and stress management, team building, goal setting with employees, constructive feedback and more. There are 35 participants in the program including 6 facilitators and the program director. Each participant is learning the peer coaching technique that Carter McNamara brought to our area last summer. It is a truly powerful method of getting to the core of an issue and developing individual solutions that meet each participant’s needs.
