Online Regional Interlibrary Loan Directory to be Available
The Regional Interlibrary Loan Committee (RIC) chaired
by Theresa Davis, Mount Saint Mary College, is preparing a new version of the
regional interlibrary loan directory. Previously only available in paper format,
the directory will now also be accessed via the Internet. Interlibrary loan
staff at area libraries are currently answering an online survey. The data collected
will be used to form the database of information needed for the directory. SENYLRC
will host and maintain the directory.
The new online format has several advantages over a print version. Updates and changes to the database can be easily made allowing for the directory to be current. Besides contact information such as address and phone number, the directory will provide delivery methods that the library uses, interlibrary loan methods that are accepted, and symbols for these methods. Library staff have the ability to list the types of materials that are not loaned via interlibrary loan. Also, library access policies will be listed for on-site use of materials.
The online survey form is available at <http://reg.senylrc.org/directory.html>. If your library has not yet filled out a survey, please have the staff member most responsible for interlibrary loan do so.
If you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact Judy Fischetti at (845) 691-2734 or email: <Contact Judy>.
