” Medical Librarians Reaching Staff Where They Can Be Found: Applying Mobile Technology to Hospital Library Services in the Southeastern NY Region”  is the title of a just-funded project which will enable member hospital librarians to engage more hospital staff where they are- conference rooms, hallway, offices or offsite locations as well as in the hospital library. The $4,500 award will bring mobile IOS devices to hospital librarians throughout the region as part of a Technology Improvement Award from NNLM/Middle Atlantic Region.

Two workshops, taught by Kate Flewelling, Outreach Coordinator at the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region, are being held at SENYLRC on March 28, 2012. Koha software will be upgraded to the latest version Monday June 27 from 8:30-9:30 AM.

Customized features such as logos, colors and the Online Resource Buttons may not return immediately but everything should be updated by 12:30 AM. If you have trouble with SENYLRC hosted catalogs after that time, please contact Zach Spalding ,883-9065 x11 (note this is a new extension for Zach)

This change will also impact web site retrievals from the catalog for all institutions using the new Drupal web sites, Catskill Regional Medical Center, Nyack Hospital,  Vassar Brothers Medical Center, and Nathan Kline.

Please save the date of Friday, June 12, 2009 for the date of SENYLRC’s Annual Meeting. It will be held this year on Post of the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York in the West Point Officer’s Club. After lunch, there will be a tour of the sixth-floor new library which is extremely beautiful. We are still working on the speaker for the annual meeting. Registration is not yet open.

Results now display in easier to read format with titles of the articles first, followed by author names- which makes for quicker review when in the default mode (summary format) as well as in Send to Printer, Send to E-Mail, and automatic e-mail updates.  The links for related articles have changed and ” free articles in PMC(Pubmed Central)” is now more obvious.  Overall, less cluttered, and much easier to read!
