On March 1st SENYLRC will upgrade the CONTENTdm software that runs the
Hudson River Valley Heritage Site (HRVH) to the next release which is
version 5.2. The upgrade comes with a piece of software called the
Project Client that is the replacement to the Acquisition Station
software installed on contributors computers used to upload items to the

The Southeastern NY Library Resources Council is pleased to announce the launch of a new website, HRVH Historical Newspapers http://news.hrvh.org/, part of the Hudson River Valley Heritage (HRVH) service. The Kingston Daily Freeman is the first newspaper to be included in this new digital newspaper repository and was completely digitized for the years 1903 to 1912. Continue reading this post…

Is your organization interested in providing web access to images of historic items from your collections? The Hudson River Valley Heritage (www.hrvh.org) service, administered by SENYLRC, is a digital repository designed for contributions from multiple organizations. While most people access the Hudson River Valley Heritage site though the web browsers, it is also possible to access the Hudson River Valley Heritage (HRVH) through OAI or Z39.50 if you know the correct settings. You would use this information if you wanted to add HRVH to a repository or union catalog.

You are invited to attend SENYLRC’s 42nd Annual Meeting scheduled for Friday, June 12, 2009 at the West Point Club on the historic campus of the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. Following the meeting and luncheon will be two tours - one of the new Thomas Jefferson Library and Learning Center and a walking tour of the surrounding campus buildings.

Please save the date of Friday, June 12, 2009 for the date of SENYLRC’s Annual Meeting. It will be held this year on Post of the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York in the West Point Officer’s Club. After lunch, there will be a tour of the sixth-floor new library which is extremely beautiful. We are still working on the speaker for the annual meeting. Registration is not yet open.

The digital collections from all contributors to Hudson River Valley Heritage are part of New York Heritage . The New York 3Rs Association launched the digital heritage web site in October 2008. The site connects more than 160 digital collections from around the state, contributed by libraries, archives, museums and other cultural institutions, and builds on existing digital repository services administered by each of the nine reference and research library resources councils.
