SENYLRC program on E-Books – Opportunities for Academic Libraries

We are planning an informational program on ebooks for academic librarians in the region. The program will introduce librarians to the current state of the ebook marketplace, including models for purchasing and licensing, both for the institution and as part of a consortia. This introduction will be given by Sue Polanka, moderator of the blog, No Shelf Required (http://www.libraries.wright.edu/noshelfrequired/).
Three vendors will present and describe their ebook products and subscription/purchasing models.

About Sue Polanka
Sue Polanka created the award-winning blog, No Shelf Required®, a blog about the issues surrounding e-books for librarians and publishers. The blog developed into a book of the same name in 2011 and will expand to include No Shelf Required 2: Use and Management of Electronic Books in Winter 2012. Sue is the Head of Reference and Instruction at the Wright State University Libraries in Dayton, Ohio and the Vice President/President Elect of the Academic Library Association of Ohio, She was named a Library Journal 2011 Mover and Shaker for her work with e-books.
