On March 1st SENYLRC will upgrade the CONTENTdm software that runs the
Hudson River Valley Heritage Site (HRVH) to the next release which is
version 5.2. The upgrade comes with a piece of software called the
Project Client that is the replacement to the Acquisition Station
software installed on contributors computers used to upload items to the
HRVH site.
It is important that all contributors upload any data currently in the
Acquisition Station and approve and index those items before March 1st,
since the Acquisition Station is incompatible with the new software.
On March 1st any data that is still in the Acquisition Station will be
trapped and unable to be uploaded to the HRVH site, so it is important
for everyone to upload your items before March 1st.
In mid-February I will start to schedule days in March to install the
Project Client software on all of your computers. I can do this remotely
for most of you. There may be a few of you that I will need to visit to
perform the install.
Jen will be sending out a separate email shortly announcing dates for
training on the new Project Client.
If you have any questions about this upgrade or need assistance
uploading items currently in your Acquisition Station please let me or
Jen know.
Summary:
- Upload (and approve and index) all data in Acquisition Stations by
March 1st
- Schedule a time for Zack to install the Project Client on your
computer in March – scheduling will begin mid-February
- Sign-up for training on the CONTENTdm 5.2 Project Client software
(email announcing dates will follow)
