The New York State Archives Student Research Award could be a great way to promote primary resources digitized and available in Hudson River Valley Heritage and at your organization.
The award consists of a cash prize and certificate. It encourages students to explore the wealth of historical records found in archives, libraries, and other community organizations throughout New York State.
Consulting Internet web sites such as the New York State Archives, Library of Congress, and National Archives is encouraged. Students can also use HRVH.org and newyorkheritage.org. This is an excellent way for students to find out what historical records are in at least 30 institutions in the Hudson Valley. They can also visit many of these institutions to do further research and consulting with historians, librarians and archivists.
