Welcome to Southeastern’s blog, SEquest. This is the place where Southeastern staff will post announcements from the council, relevant regional news, and important topics related to libraries and cultural heritage organizations. We decided to create one big blog for the council and divide it up into different categories based on our various services. We modified our homepage slightly, so that the BIG news items posted to the blog will appear on the homepage – at least the top five news items will appear. News items will move on and off the homepage and give you something new to read each time you visit our website.

We encourage our readers to post comments to the blog. Your contributions will add to the original content and we hope that some ongoing dialogs will develop for certain topics of discussion.

Here are some technical details on how to use the blog…

The software that powers the blog will allow SENYLRC to distribute information in a variety of formats including web, email, or RSS feeds (RSS stands for really simple syndication). Visitors to the blog can browse all the categories or select the categories they want to follow. You can create Email or RSS alerts for all categories or selected categories.

The URL for the blog is http://www.senylrc.org/blog/ and it is linked from the homepage. The blog page is where you can review the blog posts in the web format; find the RSS subscription links and set-up email notifications.

You can easily subscribe to the RSS feeds for SEquest using a RSS feed service, like Bloglines or Google Reader. For more information about using RSS feeds, please see this post: http://www.senylrc.org/blog/2008/09/24/subscribe-to-rss-feed/. If you prefer email notification of new blog posts, please see this post for instructions: http://www.senylrc.org/blog/2008/09/23/sign-up-for-sequest-email-notifications/.
